You can’t miss Pusser’s. It’s the multi-colored building with neatly mowed lawn that looks totally out of place on Waterfront Drive. Although it resembles an old fashioned general store in a small town in Kansas, you’ll be pleased to discover – especially on a hot afternoon – that it’s an air-conditioned bar/deli. The menu includes pastrami, turkey and roast beef sandwiches, a variety of pizzas with a dozen topping choices and burgers and fries. The English dinner pies are tasty and, with a salad, make a filling meal. Try the shepherd’s pie with ground beef and baked mashed potato topping or the chicken pie with asparagus and other vegetables. The food runs a poor second here to the popular bar that is always SRO. The pub is famous for the rum drinks that have celebrity names (made with Pusser’s rum) and it is the Pusser’s Painkiller in particular that cures all ills.
